For Love of the Moon is an independent vintage boutique based in south of France. In 2013, founder Laura shifted her life completely when she decided to leave New York City for the quieter countryside of Puglia, a sunny region in southern Italy. After ten years in Ostuni, she has relocated her shop to the southwest of France. Alongside the carefully curated selection of vintage, For Love of the Moon carries their own in-house label, a thoughtfully made collection of vintage-inspired designs created exclusively from vintage & recycled fabrics. Designed and sewn by Laura and her partner in their small studio near Bordeaux.

With a focus on wearability and longevity, all materials used for our creations are handpicked by us between our homes in Italy and France. Our favorite fabrics we like to work with are heavily embroidered high-quality cottons, intricate lace, hand crochet and linen.

I began For Love of the Moon in 2013 with my sister, Kathleen, while we both were living in Brooklyn, New York. We named the shop together at my kitchen table, following my mother’s words to always find the moon in the night sky, a quiet comfort knowing no matter where we were there would always be this common thread above. I could have never predicted in my wildest imagination how important this symbol of the moon would grow to be until I lost her.

In June of 2023, Kathleen died of brain cancer. She was only 37 years old. Her elegance, exquisite taste and beautiful spirit inspire my every movement and can be found endlessly in the details of my curations. Pressed up against this reminder every day of how fleeting and delicate life is, my shop reflects this desire to live intentionally, always with kindness and without regret. Kathleen will always be my most cherished inspiration to create and to find the joy and beauty in life.

  • All of our vintage and handmade pieces ship from France.

  • Yes, we ship all over the world. We ship with UPS for all international orders which often deliver to most countries in just 5-10 days. For EU orders, we ship with a variety of carriers including UPS, InPost, FedEx and the French Post.

  • Each piece is made from start to finish in our studio in south of France. We source all of the fabrics locally between our homes in Ostuni, Bordeaux and Paris. Each piece created before autumn 2025 is 100% Made in Italy. Each piece created after autumn 2025 is 100% Made in France.

shipping & returns

  • All delivery confirmation requests and international custom fees are subject to additional charges paid by the customer. For Love of the Moon is not responsible for any Duty, VAT or additional taxes that may be charged to receive merchandise. It is the sole responsibility of buyer to check local regulations. All items ship from Italy via UPS.

  • Returns within the European Union are accepted within five days of receiving your package for exchange or Return upon request. Please contact me directly for more information on how to process your exchange. Item(s) must be returned in good condition and customer is responsible for return shipping fees. Returns will not be processed until the item(s) are received back so please be sure to purchase a shipping label with tracking.

    All sales on on already marked down items are final sale. No returns or exchanges will be accepted.

    All international sales outside of the European Union are final. I list accurate information to ensure you know what you're getting before it gets to your doorstep. If you have a question regarding size or fit, please ask before buying. If there is a problem with your purchase upon receipt, please contact me directly.

  • A reminder that all pieces are pre-owned vintage. Signs of age may appear and are considered part of the vintage appeal. Signs of age include but are not limited to loose threads, small marks or holes, missing beads. I carefully select every item to ensure that I am selling quality goods and will describe any noteworthy damages in the item description.

  • Customers are responsible for all import fees associated with receiving your package. Packages that are not accepted and sent return to sender will not be processed for a refund.
