THE CASE FOR ASTROLOGY - 1973

15.00

The Case For Astrology by John Anthony West & Jan Gerhard Toonder was written in 1970 and published in 1973 by Penguin Books. This is an original copy.

In The Case for Astrology, John Anthony West presents compelling new evidence that proves the astrological premise: that correlations exist between events in the sky and on earth, and that correspondences exist between the human personality and the positions of the planets at birth.

With chapters such as...

-The Whore of Babylon (In Her Own Home. She Seduces Greece... She Corrupts Rome)

-The Foolish Daughter (Islam and the Early Middle Ages. From de Cusa to Kepler. Astrology in Disgrace)

-The Evidence (What is 'proof'? Cosmic Influences upon Living Organisms)

-The Soothsayer and the Specialist (Pop-astrology. The Potential of Astrology, Astrology and the Press. The Battle Against Ignorance and Superstition)

-Free Will or No Free Will? The Eternal Question

-The Age of Aquarius

John Anthony West was born in New York in 1932, and has lived in Europe since 1957. Though a novelist and dramatist by profession 'an interest in astrology has subsequently led to so prolonged a study of Eastern and Western philosophies, religion, mysticism and science that hobby and profession have become indistinguishable'.

Jan Gerhard Toonder was born in Rotterdam, Holland, in 1914. He was a sailor for a short period and then studied economics along with philosophy and psychology. Without graduating he started his career as a journalist, novelist, translator and screenwriter. He began to study astrology as a skeptic and became a convinced expert instead.
